Love Paper Week 2025: How Organisations Can Do the Right Thing

From February 3rd to February 7th, the UK will celebrate Love Paper Week 2025, an initiative led by Love Paper to highlight the sustainability, versatility, and importance of paper and print. This annual event aims to raise awareness about the environmental credentials of paper and inspire organisations and individuals to make informed, sustainable choices about their use of paper products. And we want to be a part of the action.

This isn't just about appreciating the printed page; it’s also an opportunity to align your practices with sustainability goals, educate your teams and audience, and showcase your commitment to environmentally responsible behaviour. Here, we put together a few ways you can get involved. And we are always happy to help.

Promote Paper’s Sustainability Story

Paper truly is one of the most sustainable materials available. It comes from renewable resources, is recyclable, and is often produced by industries committed to responsible forestry practices, such as those certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).

Your steps:

  • Share facts about papers' sustainability on your website and social media.

  • Highlight your use of responsibly sourced paper. What are your company's recycling initiatives? Share how you act responsibly and how your staff can contribute.

  • Host workshops about sustainable paper and print practices.

  • Challenge your employees to come up with creative ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle paper in the workplace.

  • During the week, why not share fun eco-friendly paper products, such as notebooks or printed materials, for your staff to keep and use.

Support the Circular Economy

Paper recycling is a vital part of the circular economy. When you prioritise it by ensuring you have robust recycling systems in place, you're helping reduce waste and supporting a sustainable paper industry.

Action Steps:

  • Take an audit to check just how robust your company's recycling practices are.

  • Commit to purchasing products made from recycled paper or those certified as sustainably produced. Talk to us for ideas. We love talking about recycling and sustainability!

  • Educate staff about the importance of paper recycling. Make it fun - reward the best recycler in the office with a prize at the end of February.

Celebrate Creativity with Paper

Paper has long been a medium for creative expression. From art to advertising, Love Paper Week provides an excellent opportunity to celebrate paper's aesthetic and functional versatility.

Action Steps:

  • Can you organise a creative paper art challenge or exhibition? Can this be a work 'activity'?

  • Use the week to launch a campaign showcasing beautifully designed print materials that resonate with your brand.

Here, staff used egg cartons to make seeded present tags. Cute and functional.

Spread the Word

Action Steps:

  • Spread the word. Create social media posts using the hashtag #LovePaperWeek.

  • Publish blog posts or articles highlighting your sustainable practices and support for the initiative.

  • Collaborate with us and other organisations or community groups to host events, discussions, or campaigns.

Why Participate?

By actively engaging in Love Paper Week, your business demonstrates that you support a sustainable future and are aligned with broader ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals. This helps strengthen relationships with eco-conscious consumers and stakeholders.

Mark your calendars for February 3rd to 7th, and let’s celebrate the many benefits of paper responsibly. Together, we can ensure that this timeless material continues to enrich lives while protecting the planet.
